AVOIDING CREDITOR OVERPAYMENTS
This restaurant/cafe business was recently purchased when the owner contacted us for assistance as the finances were not balancing correctly. After an assessment, we quickly concluded that their cash register was not calculating the GST accurately. In addition, their accounts payable were off, and we found that some creditors had been paid twice. Our expert bookkeepers introduced a simple payment system to keep the business’ creditors up-to-date and avoid overpayments.
The business made changes based on our regular Profit and Loss reports, resulting in profit growth and business activities development.
LODGING OVERDUE TAX RETURN
This client brought us 18 months of receipts and dockets to prepare his financials to lodge his overdue tax return.
We collected his receipts and dockets, scanning them through Receipt Bank, where they were coded and integrated into his accounting software. Our trustworthy bookkeepers reconciled his financials to his account to prepare his tax return within a week!
In addition, his employee’s wages needed amendments as they did not have the correct PAYG or Super. Fortunately, our knowledgeable bookkeepers were able to correct the discrepancies.
TO REGISTER FOR GST OR NOT
A new client had been advised that she did not need to register for GST as her income was less than $75,000 per annum, so she registered for an Australian Business Number but did not register for GST.
Upon our assessment, we suggested that she should register for GST as she provided health services that are GST free. By taking our knowledgeable bookkeeper’s advice, she was able to claim any GST paid on capital purchases or expenses.
